Kickstarting the week with a weather warning, Germany's meteorological service, DWD, has issued a heads-up for snowfall and treacherous roads in various regions. This includes Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, and the Mountain country of Hunsrück.

Starting early Monday, wet and chilly winds will stir up snowfall across these areas, particularly in the west. Roads may become slippery, and motorists should brace for up to 4 to 6 centimeters of fresh snow at lower altitudes. In the mountains, the snowfall could reach up to 10 centimeters, with localized areas in the Hunsrück region potentially experiencing more than 15 centimeters of fresh snow.

However, the forecast predicts a gradual warming trend as the day unfolds. Temperatures should hover around 4 degrees Celsius in the west and 0 to 2 degrees in the east. Despite the improved temperatures, the transition in weather might cause trouble in regions with cold surfaces, like Offenbach, which could turn icy.

The weather advisory is not confined to the aforementioned areas only. The Mountain country of Hunsrück, specifically, is also under the DWD's watch, with the possibility of significant snowfall.
