Sniffer Robotics Teams Up to Tackle Methane Emissions in North America
Sniffer Robotics has formed a new partnership to expand its methane detection services across North America. The company, known for its automated emissions monitoring technology, will work with Delmar Aerospace Corporation and Perspectum Drone Inspection Services Ltd. to target landfill operators in Canada and the western United States.
The collaboration comes as Canada adopts stricter methane monitoring rules under Environment and Climate Change Canada's OTM-51 guidelines.
Sniffer Robotics specialises in drone-based methane detection, using its SnifferDRONETM system to automate surface emissions monitoring. The technology is already compliant with Canada's new OTM-51 regulations, which require landfills to meet stricter methane tracking standards by the end of 2026.
Under the partnership, Delmar Aerospace and its subsidiary, Perspectum Drone Inspection Services, will join Sniffer Robotics' Methane Analysis Partner Program (MAPP). This gives them access to the company's detection tools, allowing them to offer methane quantification and emissions monitoring to landfill operators.
Bill Tennant, CEO of Sniffer Robotics, highlighted Canada's adoption of OTM-51 as a key factor in the decision to expand north. Meanwhile, Chris Sculley, Vice President of Business Development at Delmar Aerospace and President of Perspectum, noted that methane monitoring aligns well with their existing environmental services.
The agreement also strengthens Sniffer Robotics' position on the U.S. West Coast, where demand for landfill emissions tracking is growing. Delmar Aerospace, which provides UAS inspection and aerospace support, will integrate Sniffer's technology into its environmental monitoring offerings.
The partnership will provide landfill owners in Canada and the western U.S. with advanced methane detection solutions. Delmar Aerospace and Perspectum will now deliver these services under Sniffer Robotics' MAPP program. The move follows Canada's push for tighter methane regulations by 2026.
