Smoky commotion originates from a burned scrap yard in Rhine harbor, Karlsruhe
A fire incident took place early on Sunday morning at the Karlsruhe Rhine Harbor. The blaze, which occurred around 7 a.m., was at a waste disposal facility, according to recent findings.
The fire department was swift to respond, deploying over 70 personnel to the scene. To combat the fire, they also utilised a fireboat and the Technical Relief Agency was on site to dismantle the metal pile that was approximately 15 by 15 meters in size.
The smoke plume from the fire was visible throughout the Rhine Harbor and even reached the city, causing some concern among the public. However, it's reassuring to note that there was never any danger to the public, and no injuries were reported by the fire department and police.
Despite the initial alarm, the firefighting efforts were successful, with the fire brought under control after about two hours. The fire was completely extinguished shortly after 11 a.m.
