Title: Dangerous Drives in Harburg: Weekend Slippery Accidents

Heads up, driving enthusiasts! Harburg district has been a slippery slope lately due to those chilly winter blues. Here's the lowdown on the icy adventures that went down on highways 1, 7, 39, and 261 over the weekend.

Turns out, snow and low temperatures turned our highways into skating rinks, causing a series of accidents since Friday afternoon. Fourteen unfortunate motorists ended up in mishaps due to speeding too fast or poor tire grip. Fortunately, most incidents resulted in just property damage, with only two cases resulting in minor injuries.

Now, here comes the feline twist to the story. On Saturday, a driver and his daring cat had quite the adventure on the A7 near Thieshope. After an accident, the cat bolted. The driver was taken to the hospital, but the next day, he returned with a rental car, determined to find his furry friend. After a 20-minute search, our cat-man found his whiskered buddy, unscathed and ready for more adventures. Aww, so cute!

But the worryspeak didn't end there. On Sunday evening, two more slippery accidents occurred. At around 5:10 pm, a 21-year-old man lost control of his Opel on the A39, near Stelle, colliding with the outer guardrail. In a similar tale, two hours later on the A7 near Toppenstedt, a 28-year-old man in a VW lost control before a construction site detour, ending up in a race with warning barriers. Thankfully, both drivers were unharmed, but combined property damage totaled approximately 11,000 euros.
