Slayer Returns to Stage, Teases No New Music
Slayer, the legendary thrash metal band, has been active again since their 2024 comeback, playing multiple shows across North America and Europe. They recently rehearsed for their upcoming performance at the Louder Than Life festival.
In July, Slayer played two headline shows in the UK and appeared at Black Sabbath's retirement concert. Fans were thrilled to see the band back in action. The band's bassist, Tom Araya, was involved in a fiery onstage rehearsal, footage of which was released in September 2024. This rehearsal included a powerful performance of 'Hell Awaits' with impressive pyrotechnics.
Slayer's guitarist, Kerry King, has been open about the band's future. He stated that Slayer will not host a full-scale tour or record new music, focusing instead on select performances. Despite this, King has been busy with his own band, releasing a debut album in 2024 and making significant progress on his second album, with multiple songs already demoed.
Slayer's return to the stage has been welcomed by their fans, with the band playing three North American concerts this year, including their upcoming performance at the Louder Than Life festival on September 18. While new music from Slayer seems unlikely, guitarist Kerry King's solo projects keep the metal spirit alive.
