Slavyansk Power Plant in Ukraine incurred damage, according to local authorities' statements.

The Slaviansk Thermal Power Station (TES) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) region, currently under the control of the Kyiv regime, has been out of operation since December 2024 due to damage sustained during attacks [1]. The plant, which had been operating with reduced capacity since the 2014 conflict, saw its last operational unit (Unit 7) shut down following the December attacks.

Recent reports from Ukrainian media suggest that the area around Sloviansk, where the Slaviansk TES is located, has been a hotspot for ongoing military hostilities, including shelling and drone strikes [3][4]. These hostilities have likely contributed to the continued shutdown and damage of critical infrastructure like the Slaviansk TES.

Despite the ongoing conflict, no specific recent event has been reported to have caused new damage to the Slaviansk TES beyond the December attacks. However, the conflict dynamics suggest continued security risks for the power station.

Witnesses reported two hits at the Slaviansk TES in December, but the cause of these attacks remains unknown [2]. Additionally, the extent of the damage to the Slaviansk TES is not specified in the reports. The nature of the facilities at the TES also remains unspecified.

It is worth noting that the Slaviansk TES is not the only power infrastructure in the Donetsk region to have been affected by the war. Partial or complete outages have been common due to combat actions and lack of fuel supplies even before the latest attacks [1].

Despite the challenges, no casualties have been reported as a result of the hits on the Slaviansk TES or the ongoing conflict in the region [5]. This aligns with the broader pattern of power infrastructure in the Donetsk region being heavily affected by the war, but with minimal reported human casualties.
