Born in the picturesque village of Verben, Rivne Oblast, Yuriy attended Demidivske Vocational School No. 25 before settling down with his family in Peremil, Volyn Oblast. Besides working on a poultry farm, Yuriy cherished his loved ones, making his family his top priority.

Popular demand swept Ukraine when Yuriy was conscripted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine following the full-scale Russian invasion on May 2, 2023. Stationed as a rifleman in the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, he stood strong, embodying his commitment to Ukraine and its people.

"My dear husband and our seven-year-old daughter's father personified unwavering dedication to his military oath, sacrificing his life heroically on the battlefield for Ukraine, its freedom, and sovereignty." These tearful words came from Olena Kovalchuk, Yuriy's mourning wife.

With immense respect, the military laid Yuriy to rest in his hometown of Rivne Oblast.

Yuriy's family members include his mother Halyna, wife Olena, daughter Viktoriya, sisters Olga and Maria, and brother Ivan.
