Anton Kireychikov, a 21-year-old Ukrainian soldier, tragically lost his life.

During a tough battle against occupiers in Shyroke, Zaporizhzhia region, Anton met his untimely demise. Performing a valiant combat mission, shielding the retreat of his fellow soldiers aboard an armored personnel carrier (BMP), he perished from enemy fire that blazed his combat vehicle.

A Village Boy with a Dream

Born in the quaint countryside of Staroshiyka, Zhytomyr region, Anton had a passion for life and ambitions that rivaled the skies. He resided in Vysoka Pich, where he pursued his love for cooking, graduating from Holovynske Higher Vocational School. Determined to expand his knowledge, he furthered his education at the State University "Zhytomyr Polytechnic". In his free time, Anton indulged in hobbies such as collecting military equipment models and various tokens.

Enlisting to Serve his Nation

With the onset of the full-scale war, Anton began his mandatory military service. Following the invasion, he eagerly signed on with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, opting to take on the front lines. He served in the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, earning the esteemed positions of BMP deputy commander and gunner-operator.

His brother Andriy recalls Anton as a brave individual, always carrying an optimistic outlook on life, always spreading cheer through his laughter. Bohdan, another brother, shares, "Anton was a wonderful person, a kind soul. Despite the harsh realities of war, he never lost hope and worked tirelessly toward his goals. However, his life was cut tragically short at the age of 21 due to this vicious conflict."

An Unforgettable Hero

While Anton's body was unfortunately cremated alongside his BMP, his heroic spirit and unyielding dedication live on. He was posthumously recognized with the Order of Courage, 3rd Class, an honor befitting his valiant acts.

Anton leaves behind his mother and four brothers, a heart-wrenching reminder of the price paid by some for the heroes missed by all.
