Record-Breaking Sports Betting Revenue in Nevada for June 2025
Skyrocketing Sports Betting Income in Nevada's June By 44%
Nevada's sportsbooks have reported a remarkable surge in revenue for June 2025, setting a new post-PASPA record with $42.1 million in adjusted gross sports betting revenue. This significant increase represents a 78% jump compared to the same month last year.
The growth was primarily driven by a 103.1% year-over-year rise in baseball betting revenue, which reached an all-time high of $21.9 million for the month of June. Mobile sportsbooks contributed $29.9 million to the total revenue, slightly exceeding the previous year's June total.
The handle, or the total amount of wagers accepted, rose by 3.1% to $496.6 million. The sportsbooks maintained an impressive hold rate of 8.5%, marking back-to-back months with a hold above 8% for the first time since 2019.
Despite a minor decline of 0.9% in the fiscal year wager handle, amounting to $8 billion, and a slight decrease of 0.4% in total revenue to $267.1 million, the June figures demonstrate a record-breaking monthly performance.
Basketball brought in $8.3 million in revenue, a 4.3% drop from last year. However, this decrease was overshadowed by the robust performance in baseball betting. For the first six months of 2025, sportsbooks handled more than $3.95 billion in bets, edging up from $3.8 billion in the same period last year.
The strong sportsbook revenue performance contributed to $34.5 million in sports betting tax receipts for fiscal year 2025, though this was slightly down by about $155,000 compared to the previous year. Despite this slight decrease, the monthly gains are indicative of a thriving sports betting industry in Nevada.
The surge in sports betting revenue helped Nevada’s total gaming sector revenue to increase 3.5% year-over-year to $1.3 billion in June 2025. As we move forward, it will be interesting to see how the sports betting industry continues to evolve and grow in Nevada.
