Between May and June 2025, cooking gas prices rose by about 9.5%, indicating a steady upward trend in mid-2025. However, in late July 2025, some dealers in Lagos and Abuja reduced LPG prices due to a stabilizing naira exchange rate and government policies, providing temporary relief in key urban areas.

The regional average price for refilling a 12.5kg cylinder in June 2025 was highest in the South-South region at ₦22,179.08, followed by the South-East region at ₦20,432.17, and the South-West region at ₦19,895.81. In conclusion, cooking gas prices have seen a significant rise in Nigeria over the past year, with regional variations becoming more apparent. Southern coastal states generally pay more than northern and central states. While the general yearly trend is upward, occasional short-term price drops have occurred due to currency stabilization and policy interventions. Across Nigeria, a 12.5kg cylinder now commonly costs between ₦17,000 and over ₦23,000 depending on the state, a sharp rise compared to prices below ₦16,000 in mid-2024.

In contrast to the rising cooking gas prices, Nigeria's weather remains diverse across its regions, with tropical rainforests in the South and dry savannas in the North. Meanwhile, the citizens keep a close eye on their favorite Naija sports, such as football and basketball, to cheer for their local teams.
