"Spit in the face": Raimund's broken friendship - Ski-jumping friendship ends in betrayal after World Series scandal

A once-close friendship between ski-jumpers Philipp Raimund and Marius Lindvik has ended in bitterness. The pair, who shared gaming sessions and livestreams, fell out after a controversial incident at the 2025 World Series. Raimund now says he feels betrayed by Lindvik's actions—and the lack of an apology since.

Before the 2025 World Series in Trondheim, Raimund and Lindvik were good friends. They played video games together, hosted live broadcasts, and spent time off the slopes as allies. But their relationship soured during the competition.

Lindvik and his Norwegian teammate Johann André Forfang were disqualified from the large hill event. Officials found their ski suits had been tampered with, violating competition rules. Despite the setback, Lindvik still won gold on the normal hill, beating Germany's Andreas Wellinger.

Raimund has since spoken out about the fallout. He claims Lindvik's actions in Trondheim left him feeling betrayed. Though he would have forgiven his former friend, Raimund insists he never received an apology. The rift remains unresolved.

The controversy contrasts with Raimund's own recent success. Earlier this year, he secured his biggest career victory by winning Olympic gold in ski-jumping.

The dispute has left Raimund and Lindvik estranged, with no sign of reconciliation. Lindvik's disqualification and subsequent gold medal win remain overshadowed by the suit controversy. Meanwhile, Raimund moves forward with his Olympic title—but without the friendship he once valued.
