SKA-Khabarovsk held to a draw as relegation battle heats up

SKA-Khabarovsk held Fakel to a goalless draw in the 33rd round of the Russian First League. The result came as Fakel later secured direct promotion to the Premier League. Meanwhile, the eastern side remains locked in a tight battle near the bottom of the table. The match took place under intense conditions, with acting head coach Mikhail Semenov blaming the stifling heat for his team’s struggles. Neither side managed to break the deadlock, leaving the final score at 0-0.

SKA-Khabarovsk now sit tied for 13th and 14th place alongside Ulyanovsk’s Volga. Their final game of the season will be against Neftekhimik on May 16, with kick-off scheduled for 5:00 PM local time in Khabarovsk. The draw leaves SKA-Khabarovsk still fighting to avoid the relegation zone. Their last chance to improve their position comes in the upcoming clash with Neftekhimik. The outcome will determine whether they finish above or below Ulyanovsk’s Volga in the final standings.
