Sizzling Summer Escapade - Trabelsdorf's Rhön-harmonic Festival Ignites in August, Near Bamberg

The Rhön Harmonica Festival is set to return to Trabelsdorf, Upper Franconia, from August 8 to 10, 2025. This unique event in the German-speaking area showcases the harmonica's versatility and cultural significance, making it a must-attend for harmonica enthusiasts.

Over three exciting days, visitors can expect bustling markets, the world's longest harmonica mile, live concerts by industry superstars, and the first German Harmonica Competition. The festival's specialization makes it a focused cultural and musical celebration, distinct from broader festivals that cover multiple instruments or genres.

The longest harmonica mile, a highlight of the event, offers visitors the chance to try out different instruments, meet manufacturers, and exchange ideas with like-minded people. On Saturday, August 9, from 11 am to 5 pm, in the castle park of Trabelsdorf, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the harmonica world.

The festival kicks off on Friday, August 8, with Maddabrasska performing live at 7 pm, followed by Die Draufgänger at 9 pm. On Saturday, Die Lungauer will take the stage at 7 pm. On Sunday, Tom & Basti, known for their hit "Nix Amore", will perform at 2:30 PM, and the festival will culminate with the Pagger Buam crowning the first Trabelsdorf edition of the Rhoen Harmonica Festival at 4 PM.

Adrian Kehr, a 39-year-old world record holder in harmonica playing and the festival's initiator, believes the event will be popular among Upper Franconians. Kehr, who has been living in Trabelsdorf for about two years and has opened a harmonica teaching business there, promises that every visitor will take something unique away from the weekend.

The festival's youth afternoon takes place on Friday, August 8, from 3 to 5 pm, with young talents showcasing their skills alongside the Quetschn Academy from Graz. Admission is free.

Day tickets for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday cost 25 Euro, 15 Euro, and 15 Euro respectively, while a weekend ticket for the three-day event costs 49.90 Euro. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rhoen-harmonika.de/rhoen-harmonica-fest/.

Those traveling to the festival can find accommodation options clearly marked on the festival's website, including campsites, pensions, and hotels. So, mark your calendars and get ready for a harmonica-filled weekend in Trabelsdorf!

Attendees can look forward to a harmonica-focused lifestyle event, with opportunities to learn about various harmonicas, meet manufacturers, and attend live concerts from industry superstars. The Rhön Harmonica Festival, known for its live entertainment and music, promises to be an immersive experience for harmonica enthusiasts.
