Six prominent figures will not participate in the BMW Championship

The FedEx St. Jude Championship concluded on Sunday, with several notable performances and key developments shaping the upcoming BMW Championship.
Min Woo Lee, the Texas Children's Houston Open champion, started the tournament ranked 50th in the FedEx Cup standings. Despite a challenging start with a six-over 76 in his opening round, Lee could not recover and missed out on qualifying for the BMW Championship.
On the other hand, five players clinched their spots in the BMW Championship by playing their way into the top 50 FedEx Cup standings. Kurt Kitayama, Bud Cauley, Rickie Fowler, Jhonattan Vegas, and JT Poston will represent at the upcoming event.
Tony Finau completed the FedEx St. Jude Championship with a total score of three-over, finishing in 60th place. Chris Kirk, who performed well at the tournament, finishing in T9, could not secure his place in the Playoffs, leaving him 34 points short of the required number.
Englishman Aaron Rai finished the FedEx St. Jude Championship with a total score of six-under, placing him in 53rd position. Jordan Spieth ended the tournament with a total score of three-under, tying for 38th place. However, both Spieth's and Rai's performances were not enough to qualify for the BMW Championship.
Wyndham Clark started the tournament 49th in the standings but ended in 56th, marking a poor finish for the golfer. Despite strong performances from Tony Finau, Chris Kirk, and Aaron Rai, they all missed out on qualifying for the next round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
The final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship was completed in 2 hours and 10 minutes. The BMW Championship field consists of the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings after the St. Jude Championship, meaning those inside the top 50 advanced, while those ranked 51 and beyond missed out.
In summary, the top 50 players from the FedEx St. Jude Championship advanced to the BMW Championship, while players like Byeong Hun An and Matt Schmid missed the playoffs. Those outside the top 50 missed out on the opportunity to compete in the next round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
