Six people were evacuated from Gaza
In a series of recent developments, Kazakhstan has successfully evacuated its citizens from conflict zones in the Middle East, including the Gaza Strip and Iran. This proactive action has been made possible through constructive cooperation between Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic missions, and foreign governments.
Most recently, six Kazakh citizens were evacuated from the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis there. The operation was coordinated by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies in Jordan and Israel, with assistance from the Jordanian and Israeli authorities, as well as the International Committee of the Red Cross. The evacuees were safely escorted through border checkpoints and flew back to Kazakhstan from Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan.
Prior to this, in June 2025, Kazakh citizens were also evacuated from Iran amid escalating tensions in the region. Over 700 foreigners, including Kazakh nationals, left Iran via neighbouring countries Azerbaijan and Armenia through border checkpoints. This evacuation was facilitated by Azerbaijan temporarily opening its border for those leaving Iran, with coordination to transport evacuees to airports for flights to their home countries.
The Kazakh embassies in Amman and Tel Aviv continue to closely monitor the regional situation and maintain regular contact with Kazakh citizens remaining in Gaza and Palestine. This ongoing diplomatic engagement underscores the commitment to protect Kazakh citizens abroad during times of conflict.
The evacuations have involved collaboration with multiple foreign governments (Jordan, Israel, Azerbaijan) and international organisations (International Committee of the Red Cross), demonstrating a coordinated multilateral approach to safeguard Kazakh citizens in volatile areas.
Protecting the rights and interests of Kazakh citizens abroad remains a top priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. The ministry has expressed gratitude to all parties involved in the evacuations for their swift assistance and constructive cooperation.

This includes recent evacuations from the Gaza Strip and Iran, coordinated efforts that involved cooperation with various foreign governments (Jordan, Israel, Azerbaijan) and international organizations (International Committee of the Red Cross).
