Ole' Rocker Rod Stewart Cancels More Shows, Still Pumped for Glastonbury

Additional shows cancelled for six upcoming events - Six additional performances called off.

Hey there!

There's a bit of a bummer coming from the rock and roll world. Legendary singer, Sir Rod Stewart, aged 80, has again celled off six shows due to a lingering health issue.

Still recovering from flu

The British crooner saw two shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas canceled earlier this week due to medical advice. Wasting no time, he hopped on his Instagram account to tell his millions of followers: "I gotta cancel and reschedule my next six shows in June. I'm still recovering from the blasted flu. I'm truly sorry, mate! I'm absolutely gutted and deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to my fans." He remained upbeat, adding, "I'll be back onstage soon enough, and we'll all connect again, cheers!"

Six shows canceled, two postponed

The shows on June 7, 8, and 10 in Las Vegas, as well as one in Stateline on June 14, are axed. Two other shows planned for June 12 and 15 in California have been shifted to September 20 and 21.

The Sharston, England-bound performer has a special engagement lined up. He'll be headlining the Glastonbury festival on June 29. Stewart plans a mini-reunion with his ex-band Faces. His good old buddy, Ronnie Wood (78), who played with both Faces and the Rolling Stones, will join him for a nostalgic performance.

Health Woes daunt Stewart

Recent months have been rough on the music icon. In May, he was forced to take a break from vocals. In August 2024, he postponed several shows due to a COVID-19 infection. Back then, he scrapped his 200th Vegas show due to a sore throat.

The Lowdown on Stewart's Health Struggles

Stewart's health hasn't always been swell. He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000, underwent surgery, and worked hard to regain his voice. More recently, in 2016, he was quietly diagnosed with prostate cancer, but he carried on touring. He's also battled vocal strain and had orthopedic surgeries.

The Comeback Kid in Action

Despite his recent health roadblocks, Stewart is determined and looking forward to his Glastonbury performance. He's known for his fierce workout routines, even joking that he can run a 100-meter dash in 18 seconds.

End of the Road for Large-Scale Tours?

Stewart has announced that his current tour, including Glastonbury and an extensive Las Vegas residency, will stretch his worldwide touring streak to an end. However, he emphatically denies retiring from music.

I'm not gonna let you go, music fans, because I'm not letting Rod Stewart's health struggles dampen my excitement for his upcoming entertainment events. Despite the flu and the cancellation of several shows, Rod Stewart is still pumped for his Glastonbury performance and a reunion with his old band, Faces.
