Sister Boniface Mysteries Season 4: Release Details, Cast Members, Storyline, and Latest Updates
Prepare for another thrilling instalment of the beloved British series, Sister Boniface Mysteries, as it returns for its fourth season on U&Drama in the UK on September 26, 2023, at 9 pm. This eight-episode series promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats with a new mystery in each episode.
The story unfolds in the quaint village of Great Slaughter, where Sister Boniface, a forensic-scientist Catholic nun who rides a motorbike-and-sidecar combination, continues her mission to solve mysteries. Lorna Watson reprises her role as the fearless Sister Boniface, working alongside Max Brown as DI Sam Gillespie, who relies on her unique skills to help him solve cases.
The series kicks off with the murder of a diva on the set of an American action series in the first episode, titled "Biff! Pow! Zap!". As the story progresses, the villagers of Great Slaughter find themselves embroiled in various mysteries. In Episode 3, John Adams, a member of the ceilidh band, is found dead in the village hall. Martin Hubbard, a contestant in the Scarecrow Festival, is found dead with a mouth stuffed with straw in Episode 4. The Scarecrow Festival offers a £500 cash prize, making it an event not to be missed.
New characters join the cast this season, including Jerry Iwu as DS Felix Livingstone, who initially planned to leave Great Slaughter but couldn't bring himself to do so. Ami Metcalf plays WPC Peggy Button, who often has to fend off the amorous attentions of her former classmate Norman Whalley, played by Jack Gouldbourne.
Elisabeth Dermott Walsh appears in the first episode as twin sisters, while Dan Skinner and Nathan McMullen play American actors in a Batman-style show. Later in the series, Elaine C Smith, Bob Barrett, Tony Gardner, Gordon Kennedy, Oliver Dench, Joe Tracini, and Emily Joyce will guest star.
The main cast will be joined by a regular supporting cast, including Robert Dawes as Chief Constable Lowsley, David Sterne as Tom Thomas, Belinda Lang as Mrs Vera Clim, Sarah Crowden as Miss Dotty Thimble, and Olivia Lovibond as journalist Ruth Penny.
In Episode 6, CC Lowsley and his team are spending a weekend at an old army base for team-building exercises. The fourth season takes a darker turn in Episode 8, as property developer Ronny Panesar takes over St Vincent's, and Sister Helena is found bludgeoned to death in the chapel.
Unfortunately, there is no trailer for Sister Boniface Mysteries season 4 yet. However, fans can look forward to the return of this popular series, which will also air in Germany on U&Drama starting October 2, 2025. So, mark your calendars and get ready for another exciting season of Sister Boniface Mysteries!
