Meanwhile, Shubman Gill, the India captain, also had a series to remember. Each of his centuries in the series had a different significance for him. His first century as captain came under pressure in his first match, while his double hundred in the second Test was special as it helped India win the match. His century in the drawn fourth Test was significant as it helped India save the game from a potential defeat. In total, Gill scored a total of 754 runs in his first series as captain, including four centuries.

The match was not without its close calls. England were on course to break the record run chase at 301-3, but a collapse in the final innings saw them lose their last seven wickets for 66 runs. Siraj was named player of the match for his overall return of 9-190, which included his innings figures of 5-104.

Shubman Gill jokingly commented that if a catch had been taken, the game would have been too easy for India. However, Siraj redeemed himself after stepping over the boundary rope on Sunday, which resulted in a six being scored.

The series ended level at 2-2, with both teams showcasing their batting and bowling prowess throughout the five Tests. Siraj's strong display at The Oval significantly impacted the series result and bolstered India’s bowling strength moving forward. With his consistent high workload and skill in seam-friendly conditions, Siraj has established himself as a frontline bowler for India.
