Singer Lewis Capaldi unveils emotive track titled 'Something In The Heavens'
Lewis Capaldi, the Scottish singer-songwriter known for his heartfelt ballads, has released a new single titled 'Something In The Heavens'. The song, which delves into themes of loss and hope, was co-written by Capaldi, Connor McDonough, and Riley McDonough.
The release of 'Something In The Heavens' coincides with Capaldi's 2025 UK live shows, marking his first tour dates in two years. The lyrics of the song include poignant lines such as, "But 'til the day I die, I will dream of you/ In a million lives, you're the one I choose" and "I'll love you 'til my last breath/ You're gone but something in the heavens tells me that we'll together again".
Capaldi's comeback single, 'Survive', became his sixth UK Number One single and the fastest selling single of 2025 so far. The success of 'Survive' led to a surprise set at the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2023, where Capaldi had to cut his set short due to struggles with tics caused by Tourette's.
In light of these challenges, Capaldi announced he was planning to take some time off to focus on his health. However, the release of 'Something In The Heavens' and the announcement of a new UK and Ireland tour for 2026, which includes a headline slot at BST Hyde Park, suggest that Capaldi is back in full swing.
More new music from Capaldi is suspected to be on the way soon, with a teaser for the new track shared by Capaldi two weeks ago. Tickets for the 2026 UK and Ireland tour can be found by visiting this link.
In addition to his music, Capaldi has also teamed up with BetterHelp to provide 734,000 hours of free online therapy. This initiative aims to help those struggling with mental health issues, a cause that Capaldi has been vocal about in the past.
With 'Something In The Heavens' and the upcoming tour, Capaldi's fans can look forward to more of the raw, emotional music that has made him a favourite among many. If 'Something In The Heavens' materializes into a full album, it will be his first since 2023's 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent'.
