Singer Lewis Capaldi releases a touching new track entitled "Something In The Heavens"
Lewis Capaldi Makes a Triumphant Return to Glastonbury and Announces New Music
Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi made a surprise appearance at the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this year, following the release of his latest single, 'Survive'. The performance marked his return to the festival after being forced to cut his set short in 2023 due to Tourette's-related tics.
The release of 'Survive' in June coincides with Capaldi's 2025 UK live shows, which are his first tour dates in two years. The new single surpassed both Sabrina Carpenter and Lady Gaga in sales and became Capaldi's sixth UK Number One single, making it the fastest selling single of 2025 so far.
Capaldi has also teamed up with BetterHelp to provide 734,000 hours of free online therapy. In a heartfelt statement, Capaldi shared that therapy is the reason why he is able to be a musician again.
The lyrics of 'Survive' include the lines, "But 'til the day I die, I will dream of you/ In a million lives, you're the one I choose". The song addresses themes of loss and hope, and if it materialises into a full album, it will be Capaldi's first since 2023's 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent'.
In May, Capaldi played some warm-up shows in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week. This week also saw the singer announce a new UK and Ireland tour for 2026, which includes a headline slot at next year's BST Hyde Park. More new music from Capaldi is suspected to be on the way soon.
Capaldi's new single 'Something In The Heavens' was written by Capaldi, Connor McDonough, and Riley McDonough, who are members of the American band Before You Exit. A teaser for the new track was shared by Capaldi two weeks ago.
