Singer Kelly Clarkson recovers from an illness and embarks on her Las Vegas residency.
American singer Kelly Clarkson launched her much-anticipated Studio Sessions Las Vegas residency on July 11, following a sudden illness that forced the cancellation of the initial debut on July 4.
The residency, which marks Clarkson's second Las Vegas residency after her 2023 summer Chemistry residency at Planet Hollywood, took place at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum. The two-hour concert recreated the atmosphere of a behind-the-scenes studio session, offering fans an intimate, low-production setting.
During the opening night, Clarkson paid tribute to Jason Halbert, her music director since 2003, and performed fan favourites such as Since U Been Gone, Sober, Tight Rope, and her latest single Where Have You Been, along with her band.
Clarkson, known for her energetic performances, only changed a dress once for the encore, jokingly stating, "I'm a sweaty mother right now." However, her vocal cords were affected due to prep and rehearsals for the residency. In a last-minute Instagram message, she apologized to fans for the cancellation and expressed her disappointment, saying, "I cried. I was so sick, it sucked."
Despite the setback, Clarkson took to the stage a week later, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused to fans due to the cancellation of the July 4 show. She also shared a lighter moment by celebrating with a shot of tequila and discussing some new developments about her music catalog.
The Studio Sessions Las Vegas residency promises to be a memorable experience for fans, showcasing Clarkson's powerful vocals and engaging stage presence. The residency is set to continue, offering fans the opportunity to witness an unforgettable performance by one of the most successful pop artists of our time.
