Brandon Blackstock, Talent Manager, Dies at 48 After Three-Year Battle with Melanoma
Brandon Blackstock, a well-known talent manager, passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana, on August 7, 2025. He was 48 years old. Blackstock's death was confirmed by a family spokesperson and was ruled natural, with melanoma, a form of skin cancer, being the cause. Seizures were noted as significant contributing conditions but were not the underlying cause of death.
Blackstock's career in the music industry was marked by his successful management of numerous artists, including his ex-wife, Kelly Clarkson. The couple met at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2006, and their relationship blossomed. They married in October 2013 and had two children together, River (11) and Remington (9).
Clarkson, a singer, announced her ex-partner's illness in a statement earlier this year. Blackstock also had two children from a previous marriage, Savannah (23) and Seth (19). In a surprising turn of events, Savannah gave birth to a son in 2022, making Blackstock a grandfather.
The couple divorced in 2020, and Clarkson postponed her planned performances in Las Vegas to spend time with her children during this difficult period. In a previous interview, Clarkson expressed that the decision to divorce was not made overnight and that she wanted the process to be "beautiful," "great," and "everything it could be."
