Blümchen Bids Adieu to the Stage for Family Time

Singer Jasmin Wagner anticipates her upcoming weekend break.

Pop sensation and actress, Jasmine Wagner, aka Blümchen, is hanging up her microphone after three decades to devote more time to her family. In an exclusive chat with "Die Zeit," she dwelled on the personal motivations for her decision. A new mother, Wagner ties the knot for the second time in late 2022.

"I initially thought I'd bounce back into work as soon as I could, juggling motherhood and a career," Wagner told the publication. "But now I'm letting go of the need to do it all."

Starting May 9, she embarks on a farewell tour, which she announced on Instagram. "It's been an incredible ride filled with countless memories, shared moments, laughter, and tears. And now, after 30 years, it's time to bring the curtain down one final time," she captioned her post, signaling this tour as her swan song. Come year-end, she intends to retire from performing altogether and focus on activities within the weekdays, reserving the weekends for quality family time.

From Techno Beats to Wheatgrass Muffins

On social media, Wagner offers glimpses of her daily life, whipping up homemade wheatgrass-spinach muffins for her little one. The motherhood role seems to agree with her well. "30 years of music, memories, and unforgettable moments - now it's time to send the boomerang back one last time," she told "Bild" newspaper in March.

Blümchen kicked off her career in 1995, at age 15, with chartbusters like "Herz an Herz," "Bicycle Race," and "Boomerang." After a brief hiatus in the early 2000s, she resumed her career under her real name before making a comeback as Blümchen in 2019.

Stay tuned as Wagner explores new creative horizons while cherishing the joys of family life.

Wagner's social media posts showcase her homemade wheatgrass-spinach muffins, revealing her enjoyment of motherhood. Blümchen's music career started in 1995, with hits such as "Herz an Herz," "Bicycle Race," and "Boomerang," and she made a comeback as Blümchen in 2019, but now she's preparing for a farewell tour starting May 9 and plans to completely retire from performing by the end of the year, focusing on weekday activities and weekend family time.
