In the heart of Aktau, Kazakhstan, a disturbing incident occurred at the mosque "Nurgasyr". A man, who is known to have a large following and claims to be a teacher of Islam, began a hate campaign against Emmanuelle Nauryzbayeva.

The incident led to a series of unfortunate events. The man, with a history of criminal behaviour, made inappropriate propositions to Nauryzbayeva in the mosque. This behaviour is not tolerated, and the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Kazakhstan has taken swift action.

The Directorate expressed regret over the incident and emphasized that such behaviour is unacceptable in places of worship. The man was expelled from the mosque to ensure the safety and comfort of worshippers. Security measures and oversight were likely reviewed to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Regarding the women's hall in the mosque, the Spiritual Directorate maintained that it remains open and operational, providing a safe and respectful space for female worshippers. No closures or restrictions were reported concerning the women's section as a result of the incident.

Imam Yakhiya Khaji Ismailov of the capital's mosque stated that all halls, including women's halls, should be accessible to worshipers. However, Nauryzbayeva claims that she entered the general hall to perform a prayer because the women's hall was closed.

The situation escalated when unknown individuals managed to obtain Nauryzbayeva's phone number and started sending her threatening messages. To add to the concerns, a camera was found installed in the women's restroom of the Nurgasyr mosque, raising questions about privacy. Efforts to get answers regarding these issues were unsuccessful, as the mosque did not respond to calls.

Nauryzbayeva, who is under medical supervision due to her epilepsy, has been affected by the situation. Her condition has worsened, and she has announced that she will file a complaint with the police about the threats and those trying to portray her in a bad light.

Some Muslims on social media criticized Nauryzbayeva for recording and publishing the video online, suggesting she should have first approached the imam about the situation. However, after facing backlash, Nauryzbayeva revealed that she had approached the mosque's imam that day, but he did not defend her.

The man admitted that he did offer a religious marriage, but "for life", not temporarily. The specialized inter-regional court for administrative offenses in Aktobe region ruled the man guilty for offering a religious marriage.

In a statement, the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Kazakhstan condemned the man's inappropriate words and behaviour. They reiterated that a mosque is a place of worship and education where everyone should behave tactfully and friendly.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respect and safety in places of worship, and the Spiritual Directorate's swift action is commendable in maintaining the integrity and safety of the mosque's environment, including keeping the women's hall accessible.
