Singer Chrissie Hynde unveils plans for a duets album, featuring collaborations with Mark Lanegan, Lucinda Williams, Dave Gahan, and additional artists.

Chrissie Hynde, the iconic singer of The Pretenders, is set to release her fourth solo album, Duets Special, on October 17. This highly anticipated album will feature 13 tracks, each a duet with a different artist.

The album, which was announced in August 2025, showcases a wide range of vocal talents alongside Hynde interpreting a collection of great melodies. The artists and corresponding track names are as follows:

The album will be released via Parlophone. "Always On My Mind," the first single from the album, is out now and features Hynde and Rufus Wainwright.

Interestingly, the idea for this album came about in 2023. Hynde performed at the Mark Lanegan 60th birthday show that took place at London's Roundhouse in December 2024. It is unclear whether the duet with the late Mark Lanegan was recorded before or after his passing in early 2022.

Duets Special is not Hynde's first foray into collaborative music. In the past, she has worked with artists such as Bono, Jeff Beck, and Johnny Depp. This new album promises to be another exciting addition to her discography.
