Singer Akmal unable to fly to Tomsk due to drone attacks on Moscow
Tomsk, May 7 - RIA Tomsk. Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) has moved the date for the concert on the Lower Terrace of Lagerny Garden; performer Akmal, who was supposed to perform there, couldn't make it from Moscow due to drone attacks, RIA Tomsk reported on Wednesday, according to a university press service representative.
Initially, it was announced that TUSUR's RadioBOOM festival, held on May 7 to celebrate Radio Day, was set to conclude with a concert on the Lower Terrace of Lagerny Garden featuring Akmal. On Wednesday, it was also reported of delayed flights from Moscow's Domodedovo airport for over 24 hours and an over 10-hour delay for flights from Sheremetyevo Airport. Moscow faced drone attacks during the night and early morning of the same day, causing airport closures.
"Given the current situation, we decided to reschedule the concert on the Lower Terrace of Lagerny Garden for a later date to ensure it's held in full swing. Maybe you've heard about the recent delays in Moscow's flights due to drone attacks, which is why Akmal's performance in Tomsk won't take place," the RIA Tomsk spokesperson explained.
She added that the traditional technology drop from the eighth floor would still occur. The exact date for the concert will be announced later.
As for TUSUR, it's a Russian educational and research institution focusing on radioelectronics and control systems. Located in Tomsk, it's quite a distance from Moscow. The reported drone attacks on Moscow airports could potentially affect the city's flights, but a direct link between the events in Tomsk and these attacks requires official statements or reports for confirmation.
- Despite the initial schedule, the concert at the Lower Terrace of Lagerny Garden, part of TUSUR's RadioBOOM festival, will be rescheduled due to Akmal's inability to attend from Moscow, potentially affected by drone attacks.
- The main performer, Akmal, had planned to perform at the TUSUR event, but had to cancel due to delays caused by drone attacks on Moscow's airports.
- Interestingly, the TUSUR event, a general news topic, will not be directly impacted by the war-and-conflicts in Moscow, although the drone attacks there may have affected Akmal's ability to travel.
- The general news about the drone attacks in Moscow, affecting politics, crime-and-justice, and airports, indirectly impacts the S7 flights to Tomsk, where the honored goswuniversity, TUSUR, is located.
