Sindoor Operation, named after suspected terrorists, eliminates vermillion mark from the heads of sisters: Member of a multi-party delegation in Malaysia

Indian military operation dubbed 'Operation Sindoor' was prompted by the terrorist killings of husbands in front of their families, following the sisters' traditional practice of wearing vermilion on their foreheads, as stated by Sarangi.

"Siblings adorned their foreheads with vermilion, only to have their husbands mercilessly slain before their eyes by distant terrorists. This grim occurrence reportedly sparked India's Operation Sindoor, a military operation named after the removal of the vermilion mark from the victims' heads following the tragedy."

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - June 1 (ANI): During a visit to key global capitals, BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, a part of the JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha-led delegation, shed light on India's stance on terrorism. She explained that the series of air strikes carried out by the Indian armed forces across Pakistan were called Operation Sindoor, a name chosen in remembrance of the husbands slain by terrorists, causing the removal of the vermilion mark from the widows' foreheads.

In a casual conversation, Sarangi shared her pride over India being the "largest democracy" in the world. She expressed, "We're all fortunate to be here, part of India, the largest democracy in the globe. It's a reason to celebrate. And we're on the verge of becoming the third-largest economy, leaving Japan behind and stepping up before the 2.5-3 year mark."

The delegation, headed by Jha, underlined that terrorists attempted to create chaos and discord in India by the Pahalgam attack, aimed at specific groups, but their divisive efforts failed. While interacting with the Indian diaspora in Kuala Lumpur, Jha echoed India's strength and unity in the face of terrorism sponsored by Pakistan. He stated, "In Pahalagam, they attempted to segregate along religious lines to stir communal unrest in the country. But it was a futile attempt. Nothing of that sort happened in India."

Jha also touched upon Pakistan's effort to establish a ceasefire through a morning call with the Indian DGMO, which was impeded due to a hotline issue. The message was instead conveyed through the Pakistan embassy in India.

The delegation, led by Jha, embarked on a journey to partner countries to reinforce India's resolute stance against cross-border terrorism and its unwavering zero-tolerance policy. So far, they have visited Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore.

The delegation comprises BJP MPs Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, Hemang Joshi, and Aparajita Sarangi; Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee; CPI-M's John Brittas; Congress leader and former Union minister Salman Khurshid; and Mohan Kumar. (ANI)
