Mark Hamill Skips Over His Star Wars Legacy After 47 Years

Haven't Caught Up with 'Star Wars' Since Its 1977 Debut - Since its initial release in 1977, "Star Wars" has remained absent from screens.

Hey there! Here's a juicy lil' scoop for all ya Star Wars fanatics out there. Legendary Luke Skywalker actor, Mark Hamill (73), has rocked the crowd with his surprising confession. Guess what he hasn't watched since its premiere 47 years ago? Yup, you guessed it - Star Wars!

"I haven't caught up on it since it dropped," Hamill spilled on the "3rd Hour of Today" show during his casual chat. "My boys watch it - especially Nathan, he's a hopeless fan. I caught the first one when it came out, but don't ask me to revisit it."

No Nostalgia for His On-Screen Adventures

But don't go thinking ol' Mark's a total Grinch about his films. He just doesn't feel the need to relive his past glories. "I'm not one of those 'hey, let's pop in one of my flicks!' kinda guys," Hamill joked. Considering Star Wars fueled his glittering career and cemented itself as one of the most winsome franchises in cinema history, this wired stance kinda takes us aback, don't it?

Hamill donned the Luke Skywalker cape in the original trilogy before reprising the role in the sequels. His character left fans heartbroken with his demise in 2017's “The Last Jedi," only to return as a ghostly figure in the last installment, "The Rise of Skywalker."

A Future Without Luke Skywalker

Though Luke bitted the dust, Hamill's still cool with stepping back and giving the newbies a chance to shine. "I think my time's come and gone," he told "People" mag while kickstarting promo for his new film "The Life of Chuck." "I'm over the moon to have been a part of it, but it's about moving forward and new projects, new people."

Hamill's in the dark about the upcoming “Starfighter” flick in the Star Wars universe, but he's gonna pop his eyes when he claps eyes on Ryan Gosling (44) in the lead role: "I reckon his humor's my taste."
