Sinatra Performs at Moon Park
Frank Sinatra's Impeccable Performance at Luna Park
Frank Sinatra, the iconic "king of suspense," delivered a mesmerizing performance at Luna Park in Buenos Aires, leaving nearly twenty thousand spectators captivated. The venue was filled to capacity, with only a few seats remaining in the preferential sector and the superpullman. The more expensive plate seats and high plate seats were also sold out, making it a night to remember for all those in attendance.
The platform for Sinatra's performance was simple yet elegant, consisting of a podium, a high stool, and a golden microphone. The stage setup was complemented by an orchestra, expertly arranged by Don Costa, which provided a variety of music suitable for the recital.
Tony Mottola gave a virtuoso performance in "Carnival Morning" and accompanied Sinatra on "As the Years Go By," leaving the audience fascinated by their duo. Al Klink and Robert Alexander also delivered notable solos during the performance. In the brass group, Charles Turner stood out, contributing an excellent instrumental solo and taking numerous photographs of Sinatra.
The sound quality during the performance was exceptional, thanks in part to the Yamaha 2000 console and other equipment brought by Sinatra, as well as local equipment provided by Teddy Goldman.
Juan Alberto Mateyko was chosen to host the show, and he felt honored and moved about his role for the night. Gener Cherico, a double bassist, had an impressive pulse that blended well with the varied percussion and joined the conducting piano of Vincent Falcone.
Despite being surrounded by thousands of people, Sinatra managed to engage the audience, creating a series of enthusiastic ovations. Negotiations were underway for La Voz to help alleviate the economic deficit caused by Sinatra's concerts in Argentina.
