Stepping into the limelight for a cause close to millions of hearts, Polina Gagarina and Zara lend their voices to the heart-wrenching melodies of war, as part of the "Music of Victory" campaign. This initiative, spearheaded by the "Integration" production center, aims to revitalize timeless songs from the war years and those penned about the Great Patriotic War, for enduring films.

With Igor Matvienko's studio backing, today's biggest stars contribute to this project, offering moving interpretations of songs that echo through generations.

Under the soft glow of purple lights and surrounded by instruments of musical expression, Polina Gagarina and Zara graced Igor Matvienko's academy to record their parts for this project. Zara, known for her powerful frontline songs, felt a sense of reverence each time she stepped into the studio to perform such profound pieces.

"The responsibility is immense," Zara shared. "It's challenging to sing with simplicity and convey the message. When you delve deep into the song, immersing yourself in the narrative, that's what truly matters. Through these songs, we learn the feelings that ordinary people went through - they were the heroes!"

For "Music of Victory," Zara chose the song "For the Rest of My Life." Known for its deep philosophy and poetic wisdom, this song, based on the words of Peter Fomenko and Boris Vakhtin, resonates with Zara on a personal level, especially given her St. Petersburg roots.

On the other hand, Polina Gagarina, famous for her rendition of "Kukushka," picked the melody "Song About the Distant Motherland" from the iconic Soviet film "Seventeen Moments of Spring."

"It's a cinematic masterpiece, and Tariverdiev's music evokes a deeply emotional response," Polina explained. "The performance is intense, powerful, and full of soul-stirring emotions. It was a great honor for me to perform it."

While Polina's interpretation diverges from the original, imbuing the song with a more tender, maternal harmony, the project aims to give old songs a fresh sound, resonating with contemporary audiences.

The songs of Polina Gagarina, Zara, and other artists involved in the project will soon be available on popular streaming platforms and major radio stations.
