Julia Simic is set to leave Eintracht Frankfurt for a new role with the Swiss women’s national team. The experienced coach and former professional player will join as an assistant under head coach Rafel Navarro. Her departure follows a short but impactful spell with the German club’s women’s youth setup.

Simic joined Eintracht in 2023 as an assistant coach before stepping up to lead the U20 women’s team. She took charge after Friederike Kromp’s exit, guiding the side in Germany’s second-tier 2. Frauen-Bundesliga. Her coaching career began after retiring from playing, where she also worked as a television pundit.

As a player, Simic featured in the Bundesliga for multiple clubs and won domestic titles. She later gained international experience with West Ham United and AC Milan. These stints abroad shaped her approach to the game, earning praise from Navarro for her modern tactics and broad expertise. The Swiss Football Association has also extended Nadine Angerer’s contract as goalkeeping coach until 2025. Angerer’s continued role complements Simic’s arrival, reinforcing the team’s technical staff ahead of future campaigns.

Simic’s move leaves a vacancy at Eintracht’s U20 team, with no immediate replacement announced. Her new position with Switzerland begins in December 2025, where she will support Navarro’s coaching staff. The Swiss national team now benefits from her playing pedigree and recent development work in German football.
