Silver medal triumph for Kurgan's players at Nizhny Tagil competition
🏃🏆 Curgan lads crush the competition at the "Lokobol - 2025 - RZD" football tournament in Nizhny Tagil!
The lads from Curgan's MFC "Avangard" kicked some serious butt, securing a stunning second place finish at the recent regional stage! 🥈 Juggling a kick-ass lineup of players born in 2014 and graduates of DYSSH No3, this young talent barely missed out on snagging the first spot. In a heart-stopping match against the winners from Syktyvkar, they were foiled by just a solitary point! 🤕
Over five intensive matches, these humble heroes from Curgan outmaneuvered their opponents, bagging three sheer victories and tirelessly tying two! Able to net themselves a whopping total of 11 points, they strode into their final battleground fueled by a fierce determination!
The tournament boasted six teams from all over the region, battling it out in classic round-robin style. Pitting Curgan against Syktyvkar, Perm, Noyabrsk, Yekaterinburg, and Surgut, the competition was a brutal, backs-to-the-wall slugfest! 🤼
In a thrilling twist, Syktyvkar emerged as the eventual champions, earning themselves a formidable 12 points! The highlights of the tournament included some explosive performances from our very own Alexander Radchenko, snatching the title for Best Players of the Tournament! 🥇🔥
Curgan has always remained at the forefront of sporting achievements, a fact that couldn't have been any better demonstrated than here! In June, their weightlifters clenched silver and bronze medals at the Russian Championship and, back in April, their Greco-Roman wrestling crew bagged seven medals at the Ural Federal District Championship!
From hand-to-hand combat and kickboxing to taekwondo, these regional reps have repeatedly proven themselves as top contenders in competitions far and wide! 🏆🥋
