Sidhu Admits Sausage Analogy Warning to Khan, Recounts Brash Reaction from the Actor

Navjot Singh Sidhu recounted a conversation with Shah Rukh Khan that took place before the actor's entry into Bollywood. In an interview with the Magic Moments YouTube Channel, Sidhu recalled warning Khan against pursuing a career in Bollywood and shared the actor's confident response.

During a casual meeting in Lucknow following a match, Sidhu recalled Khan being star-struck by him. However, Sidhu instead praised Khan's work on television, stating that he watched Fauji and Circus to see him. When Kapil Dev asked Sidhu who Khan was, Sidhu replied that he was a big star.

Sidhu then asked Khan about his future plans, and warned him against working in Bollywood. Khan responded with assurance, telling Sidhu, "I will manage." Sidhu warned him about the competition in Bollywood, stating that it was fierce, and that Khan would surely be consumed like a sausage for breakfast.

Khan responded by confidently asserting, "I don't compete with anyone. I am my own competition." Sidhu commended Khan for maintaining his composure and polite demeanor, remarking that he remained the same even today.

Shah Rukh Khan has since made a successful comeback to the big screen with Pathaan, which earned over ₹1,000 crore gross at the box office. He is currently working on his upcoming film King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film also stars Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Abhay Verma, Saurabh Shukla and others in key roles.

Despite initially warning Shah Rukh Khan about the competitive nature of Bollywood, Navjot Singh Sidhu later recognized Khan's self-assurance in entertainment industries, which extended not only to Bollywood films but also television shows like Fauji and Circus, and even movies-and-tv productions that showcase cricket as a form of entertainment. In subsequent years, Khan proved Sidhu wrong by establishing a successful career in Bollywood, as well as making a comeback in movies-and-tv, as evident in his recent box office hit, Pathaan.
