Shymkent's 'Unity Is Our Strength!' Festival Boosts Tourism, Celebrates Diversity
Shymkent recently hosted the 'Unity Is Our Strength!' festival, celebrating Republic Day and the 35th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. The event showcased the city's diversity and unity, attracting large crowds and boosting its tourist appeal.
The festival featured a wide range of activities, from cultural performances to sports competitions. Representatives of various ethnic groups shared their traditions, songs, and dances, proving that Shymkent is indeed a city of life, art, unity, and joy. Open-air concerts titled 'Shymkent Evenings' took place across the city, while kite-flying competitions and children's workshops added to the festive atmosphere.
Erlan Omarov, head of the Visit Shymkent Tourism Information Center, praised the festival's significance in strengthening the city's tourist appeal. The event also fostered family recreation, unlocking creativity and promoting outdoor leisure. Cycling races, street dance battles, and a motorcycle season closing ceremony were among the many sports activities held. DJs and dancers, along with a concert program, kept the crowd entertained throughout the festival.
