Shaking Things Up: Your Fav RTL Shows Got a Host Switch!
Switching Out Their Presenters: These Shows Making Dramatic Hosting Swaps - Shows Swap Their Host Personalities
This TV season is about to get spicy with some exciting news! The hosts of your favorite RTL shows are shaking things up, switching roles to keep you entertained!
First up, it's "Battle of the Reality Stars"! After five years of hosting, Cathy Hummels is stepping down to focus on her son's schooling. Taking her place is the iconic Arabella Kiesbauer, who's thrilled to return to the German media landscape and tackle "Battle of the Reality Stars"!
Now, let's groove to the music with "Let's Dance"! This show's had some major host changes over the years. Entertainers like Hape Kerkeling and Nazan Eckes co-hosted in the early days, while Daniel Hartwich brought the wit beginning in 2010. Sylvie Meis joined in 2011, only to leave in 2017. Victoria Swarovski then took over, and she and Hartwich have been the dynamic duo ever since!
Another RTL show, "Das Supertalent," has also seen a switcheroo. Marco Schreyl led the first season, with Daniel Hartwich joining in 2008. They teamed up for four seasons before Hartwich took over alone. Victoria Swarovski joined forces with Hartwich in 2020, but Lola Weippert and Chris Tall took over the next year. Since 2024, Swarovski has returned to her hosting role, this time alongside Jens "Knossi" Knossalla.
Remember "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!"? After Dirk Bach's tragic passing, Daniel Hartwich stepped up to co-host with Sonja Zietlow for nine years. In 2021, Jan Köppen made his Dschungelcamp debut alongside Zietlow, and they've been a team ever since.
Before Köppen, he hosted "Are You The One?" for its first season. Sophia Thomalla then took over, still hosting the show today. In addition to the regular edition, Thomalla's also the host of "Are You The One - Reality Stars in Love" since 2021.
As for "Germany's Got Talent," the show's lineup has seen numerous changes. Michelle Hunziker and Carsten Spengemann hosted the first two seasons, while Marco Schreyl and Tooske Ragas became a duo in 2005. Raúl Richter and Nazan Eckes took over in 2013. Oliver Geissen hosted solo from 2015 to 2019, before a temporary handover to Alexander Klaws in 2020. Geissen returned in 2021, and Marco Schreyl made a small comeback in 2022. Laura Wontorra was the host on stage from 2023 to 2024.
Lastly, we've got "Temptation Island." After two seasons and the first VIP edition, Angela Finger-Erben stepped down. Since the third regular season and the second VIP round, Lola Weippert has been escorting couples on the island of temptation.
Stay tuned for even more changes! The world of entertainment never sleeps, and your beloved RTL shows are no exception. As they evolve, remember to savor every moment, because the next host switch is only a dance move away!

- With school enrollment and the ongoing challenges of the coronavirus, Cathy Hummels, a known RTL host, has decided to focus on her son's education, opening the door for Arabella Kiesbauer to step into her role in "Battle of the Reality Stars".
- The lineup for "Das Supertalent" has seen an incredible transformation over time. After starting off with Marco Schreyl and Daniel Hartwich, the show welcomed Victoria Swarovski and Lola Weippert in recent years, with Jens "Knossi" Knossalla joining more recently for some seasons.
- "Let's Dance" has been no stranger to shifting hosts, with the likes of Hape Kerkeling, Nazan Eckes, Daniel Hartwich, Victoria Swarovski, and now, surprisingly, Instagram sensation Lola Weippert taking on the hosting duties.
