The ninth edition of The Bridge, an exclusive invitation-only car show, took place at the picturesque 18-hole golf course in Bridgehampton, New York. This year's event, held at The Bridge at Topping Rose House, a boutique hotel, showcased a diverse range of automotive treasures, from vintage racers to modern masterpieces.

One of the highlights of this year's event was the debut of the Gordon Murray Special Vehicles S1 LM, the first creation from Gordon Murray Automotive's new Special Vehicles division. This stunning vehicle exemplifies the trending return to analog at the highest levels of performance cars, as evidenced by its manual gearbox and a 4.3-liter naturally aspirated V-12 capable of 12,100 rpm, while targeting an overall weight of less than 2,100 pounds.

Another standout was the 1972 Lola T310 Can-Am, one of the longest, widest, and lowest cars ever to compete in the Can-Am Series. This iconic racer, piloted by David Hobbs, was sold through Mecum Auctions in 2015. The 1972 Lola T310 Can-Am was not the only racing legend at The Bridge. The 1963 Abarth-Simca 1300 GT Coupe, a temporary partnership between Abarth and Simca, designed for competitive racing, was also on display. This lightweight car, weighing just 1,389 pounds, has a rich racing history, having participated in the Targa Florio race three times in Italy.

The 1963 Abarth-Simca 1300 GT Coupe was not the only vintage car at The Bridge. The 1928 Bugatti Type 40 Grand Sport, a boattail variant, was among the earliest cars at the event this year.

The event was not just about racing cars. The 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB, the first model from Ferrari to be bodied primarily in fiberglass, was another domestic stunner showcased at The Bridge. This classic car was originally equipped with a 255 hp, aluminum 3.0-liter V-8 mated to a synchromesh five-speed transmission.

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider, designed by Franco Martinengo of Pinin Farina, was another elegant addition to The Bridge. Dressed in a striking Peacock blue, the 1956 Ford Thunderbird was another domestic stunner showcased at The Bridge.

The cars at The Bridge were carefully selected by Robert Rubin, Shamin Abas, and Jeffrey Einhorn, the co-founders of The Bridge. This year, over 300 cars were displayed, with Mercedes-Maybach serving as the title sponsor.

Unlike other car shows, The Bridge does not have a judging component, making it a relaxed event for attendees. The 500-person gala at The Bridge at Topping Rose House benefitted the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.

In conclusion, The Bridge once again proved to be a premier event for automotive enthusiasts, showcasing a diverse range of cars, from vintage racers to modern masterpieces. The relaxed atmosphere, combined with the stunning displays of automotive excellence, makes The Bridge a must-attend event for anyone with a passion for cars.
