In the world of international politics and betting, the odds for Donald Trump to win the Nobel Peace Prize have been making headlines. While the 2019 prize has already been awarded, the focus is now on the 2025 award, and Trump is currently the favourite.

According to betting markets, Trump has odds around 5/4 (implying roughly a 44% chance) to win the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, as per William Hill and similar markets. Other sources list him as a joint-favourite at +250 (decimal odds 3.5, or about a 29% implied probability).

The surge in Trump’s odds for the 2025 award follows recent high-profile diplomatic talks involving key world leaders, notably between Putin and Zelensky, which betting markets interpret as increasing his chances. However, these odds reflect market sentiment and bets rather than any official likelihood or institutional endorsement.

The nomination for Trump's potential Peace Prize came from Norwegian lawmakers Christian Tybring-Gjedde and Per-Willy Amundsen, in recognition of Trump's role in the historic Singapore Summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The nomination was made back in 2018.

Interestingly, Paddy Power has the odds at 1/2 that Donald Trump will win the Nobel Peace Prize before the end of his first term (2020), with an implied chance of 66.6%. This suggests a strong belief in Trump's diplomatic prowess among some betting circles.

Meanwhile, the chances of Kim Jong Un and Trump teeing it up and playing a round of golf together remain the same at 16/1.

As for the current political climate, President Trump tweeted that everybody can feel much safer than the day he took office. He also stated that there is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea.

It's worth noting that overseas sportsbooks are permitted to accept bets on political outcomes and events, unlike those in the US. The betting interest in US politics surged overseas during the 2016 presidential campaign, and bookmakers have continued to offer odds on all things Trump.

The last American president to garner the Nobel was Barack Obama in 2009. This year's Nobel Peace Prize will be recognized in October.
