Shooting spots for the upcoming revamp of movie The Fantastic Four, featuring Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby
In the upcoming film, Fantastic Four: First Steps, the production team has taken viewers on a journey across the United Kingdom and Spain to bring the superhero team's story to life.
The primary filming locations in the United Kingdom include Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, where more than 30 sets were built, including a recreated Times Square, Yancy Street, and Reed Richards' high-tech lab in the Baxter Building. The studio was also transformed into New York City in the 1960s for the filming of the movie.
Pinewood Studios also housed the main stage where Mr. Fantastic's scientific lair was set up. The extensive underground mine in Middleton, Derbyshire, served as the villainous Mole Man's lair in the film, with more than 220 meters of lead and limestone galleries transformed into a strange underground city.
In Dorset, England, the natural limestone arch of Durdle Door was reported to have been used for outdoor scenes featuring the superhero team, but these scenes did not make the final cut and may appear as deleted scenes.
Moving to Spain, the Palacio de Congresos in Oviedo, Asturias, stood in for the United Nations headquarters and the interiors of the Baxter Tower and the Future Foundation. The futuristic silhouette of the Palacio de Congresos, designed by Santiago Calatrava, has made it a major architectural landmark in the region of Asturias.
The Palacio de Congresos embodies the high-tech elegance of the Baxter Tower, with its glass walls bathing the building in natural light, and its immense white dome and fluid forms evoking both a spacecraft and a marine creature. The auditorium, exhibition palace, and conference rooms within the Palacio de Congresos serve as multifunctional spaces for various events.
The plot of Fantastic Four: First Steps involves new enemies and old mysteries threatening Earth and forces from elsewhere. Joseph Quinn plays Johnny Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays Ben Grimm, and Vanessa Kirby plays Sue Storm, while Pedro Pascal takes on the role of Reed Richards.
Fantastic Four: First Steps is a reimagining of the superhero team's story, set in an alternative version of New York in 1964. The film promises to deliver an exciting and action-packed adventure for audiences worldwide.
