Shiftmove's AI tool slashes fleet costs by predicting car maintenance needs

Shiftmove has rolled out a new Vehicle Health Monitoring feature for its Avrios fleet management software. The tool aims to cut costs and prevent breakdowns by using real-time data to predict maintenance needs. It forms part of the Connected Cars add-on, helping businesses keep their fleets running smoothly.

The system pulls live vehicle data and OEM telematics to spot potential issues before they become serious. When a problem is detected, it automatically schedules service tasks, ensuring maintenance intervals are never overlooked. For fleets with heavy usage, this could save up to €150 per vehicle each year.

Late or missed maintenance often leads to higher repair bills—sometimes by as much as 40%. It also creates extra work for administrators, who must manually track service deadlines. Vehicle Health Monitoring removes this guesswork by automating compliance and flagging necessary repairs early.

The feature integrates directly into Avrios, requiring no extra setup. Future updates will add automatic alerts for dashboard warning lights, further simplifying fleet oversight. Shiftmove reports that over 730,000 vehicles worldwide already rely on Avrios, with more than 27,000 customers using the software to manage contracts, costs, and compliance.

Beyond cost savings, the tool improves vehicle availability and reduces unexpected downtime. It also helps protect warranties by ensuring services are carried out on time, without manual checks or paperwork.

The new feature is designed to streamline fleet operations while lowering expenses. By catching issues early and automating service reminders, it cuts administrative workloads and keeps vehicles on the road. Shiftmove expects the update to benefit businesses managing large or high-mileage fleets the most.
