Sherzat Polata's Case: Girl Reveals Assistance in Cleaning Blood from Knife after the Incident
Unraveling the Tragedy: The Untimely Demise of Sherzat Polat
Hailing from Talgar, 2024 saw a heartbreaking turn of events for 16-year-old Sherzat Polat. On a fateful October day, his life was cruelly snatched away, leaving a gaping void in the hearts of those who loved him.
The incident unfolded at the "Qamajay" store, where Sherzat's father, Kharzhaubai Nurymov, was employed. A customer refused to pay for a can of beer, leading to a verbal argument. In an attempt to support his father, Sherzat, along with his uncle, Nurganat Gaipbayev, attempted to intervene. The enraged customer, Darkhan Askentay, returned with a group of associates, instigating a physical altercation. Allegedly, during the skirmish, Abzal Shynasyl dealt the fatal blow to Sherzat[1][2].
In the aftermath, a total of 11 suspects were apprehended in connection with the minor's murder. The case, which sparked public outcry, was investigated under five articles of the Criminal Code of the RK. Local residents speculated the involvement of the Khutorskie organized crime group, but the Interior Ministry dismissed these claims[1].
The preliminary hearing for the case was held on April 10, 2025, with the main trial commencing on April 17. The prosecutor recounted the tragic events that led to Sherzat's death[1]. The trial is ongoing, with the presiding judge, Erzhan Zhanuzakov, imploring all parties to maintain silence on the matter and denying any requests to relocate the trial[1].
Sadly, the family's tragedy did not end with the loss of their son. Two weeks after the incident, their home was set ablaze, with no one present at the time[1]. National Guard troops were deployed to ensure order. Two months later, Nurganat Gaipbayev, Sherzat’s uncle, was discovered dead on the outskirts of Talgar, with authorities attributing his death to suicide[1]. During his funeral, Kharzhaubai Nurymov was detained for 15 days for displaying aggressive behavior and making threats[1].
