Sheridan and Thunder Basin Tennis Teams Shine in Recent Matches
In the world of high school tennis, two teams from Wyoming, Sheridan and Thunder Basin, have been making waves with their impressive performances in recent matches.
Last week, Sheridan's tennis squads faced off against Campbell County, with both the boys and girls teams emerging victorious with a score of 4-1. Ben Bujans clinched the #1 Singles match for Sheridan against Carter Rodgers, while Liv Katschke and Eva Gorsuch, and Matt Brown and Eric Venn, secured the doubles matches. Ella Bilyeu also added to the team's points with a win in the 1 Singles match against Kendall Mills. Aaron Lansing and Lawson Woodrow, Mallorie Akers and Lizzy Lansing, and Sam Wilcock and Christian Laman also won their respective doubles matches.
In a separate match, Thunder Basin's girls team came out on top against Sheridan with a score of 5-0. Ellie Garcia, the standout player of the match, defeated Ella Bilyeu in the #1 Singles match. Garrett Moore and Jackson Moore won the #1 Doubles match for Thunder Basin against Matt Brown and Eric Venn.
However, in the boys' match-up between the two teams, Thunder Basin narrowly lost to Sheridan with a score of 3-2. Ben Bujans once again secured a win for Sheridan in the #1 Singles match against Jaxon Richert. Emile Reede and Parkar Gulley also clinched wins for Thunder Basin against Larissa Hoffman and Drew Miller respectively.
In a different competition, Thunder Basin's girls team defeated Sheridan 5-0. Sam Wilcock and Christian Laman won the #3 Doubles match for Sheridan against Carlos Enriquez and Tayten Walker. Larissa Hoffman also managed to secure a win for Sheridan against Kylie Grooves in the #2 Singles match.
The Northern Regional Championship for Tennis in 2021 took place in Oberhausen, Germany.
