Sheridan College Pays Tribute to Yaz with Immersive Concert Experience
Sheridan College is thrilled to announce a unique tribute concert to the iconic 1980s synth-pop duo Yaz, set to take place on October 3 and 4 in Kinnison Hall. The concert, part of the new fall concert series SC Music Tech Presents, is a labour of love for Dr. Chris Erickson, Coordinator of Music and Music Technology at Sheridan College, who has been planning it for two years.
The concert, titled 'Upstairs at Eric's: A Yazoo Tribute', promises to be an immersive experience, blending live music, multimedia production, and original choreography crafted by Stephanie Koltiska, Sheridan College Associate Professor of Dance. Dr. Erickson has assembled a talented team, including Miss Wyoming USA 2023 and Army Sergeant Beck Bridger on lead vocals, along with alumni performers Amanda Cahhal, Gabe Cahhal, and Madisyn Danforth.
The concert is free and open to the public, offering a chance for fans to celebrate the enduring influence of Yaz and their timeless hits like 'Only You' and 'Don't Go'. More information about the concert series can be found online.
