Shashi Tharoor Criticizes Delhi Airport Functionality during his travel en route to welcome PM Modi
Fresh, Original Version:
Ha! Delhi Airport, amirite? Congress MP Shashi Tharoor Surely Slammed Their Shambolic Operation on Thursday! Despite the air traffic control chaos, this clever guy managed to touch down in Thiruvananthapuram bang on time to welcome the one and only, PM Narendra Modi as he swung by to officially commission the much-anticipated Vizhinjam Port project.

Now, let's gear up for our bellyaching session on the wretched state of Delhi's notorious air hub. Shashi Tharoor took to the social media platform, X, to publicly lament it, stating, "Sure, the Delhi airport can be a real pain in the arse (sorry, grandma)! Delays aside, I somehow managed to make it to Thiruvananthapuram right on time to give Narendra Modi a warm welcome to his arrival in my constituency. Can't wait to see the Vizhinjam port project he'll commission, of which I've been over the moon about since its inception!"
It seems like a pattern here — hate on the Delhi Airport, love on the Vizhinjam project! And not so long ago, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was hopping mad about the same inappropriate airport. Way back in April, he shared a selfie of himself scarfing down some fresh air on the tarmac after having spent three hours in the clouds and being diverted to Jaipur. In typical Omar style, he vented, "Delhi airport? More like a damn zoo show! All because of bloody weather. Not holding back the cursing, so sorry Mom! Found myself on the steps of the plane at 1 am lawdy lawdy! No idea when we'll be taking off from here!"
Oh, we have a story to tell about the blasted Delhi Airport alright; it has been an absolute nightmare due to some livelong construction projects and weather mayhem! This crazy airport has been shuffling around all the runways, causing about 30 minutes of delays per flight, every single day. Yep, you read that right, over 200 flights are getting late, and it ain't no picnic for the passengers.
To make matters worse, the main runway has been under repair since April, cutting down the airport's capacity during peak hours. Now, when the wind shifts, which it did on May 2nd with a vengeance, the airport switches to a complicated runway setup, causing even more delays and flight disruptions.
On May 2nd alone, the heavy rains and thunderstorms caused over 100 flight delays and even led airlines like IndiGo and Air India to issue alerts to their passengers about the potential chaos. Looks like the weather was giving the airport a well-deserved taste of its own medicine!
It's no surprise that the air traffic wrecking ball has earned itself quite a few critics, including some of the big politicians. Who do you think slammed the Delhi Airport last? Give up? None other than the charismatic Shashi Tharoor! With the ongoing construction surgeries and showers of doom, Delhi Airport delays are expected to persist until May 4th.
It's like living on a roller coaster, ain't it? These speed bumps in our travel plans might just drive us to distraction! But hey, we've got to find a way to roll with it—after all, life is full of climbs and falls. So hang on tight, folks! We'll get through this together. And maybe, just maybe, the Delhi Airport will get its act together, too!
