Shared are the alleged text messages sent by the suspected killer of Charlie Kirk to his "romantic partner" following the shooting incident.
In a shocking turn of events, Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old resident of Utah, has been charged with the aggravated murder of conservative speaker Charlie Kirk. The incident occurred during a speaking event at Utah Valley University in Orem on September 10.
According to the investigators, Robinson had allegedly planned the assassination for over a week before the tragic event. The roommate of Robinson, who is transgender and has been cooperative with authorities, provided the alleged text messages that revealed the plot.
On the day of the shooting, Robinson is said to have left a chilling note for his roommate. The note read, "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it." Robinson also expressed concerns about his father finding out about losing the rifle and its potential lack of a serial number.
Robinson, who engraved bullets for the assassination, left grandpa's rifle wrapped in a towel at an unknown location. He was also worried about the prints he left at the location where he left the rifle.
The roommate, who is in a romantic relationship with Robinson, provided the alleged messages to investigators after the crime. Police have a photo of the note left by Robinson and have obtained the text messages between him and his roommate.
Robinson, intending to turn himself in willingly, was worried about a squad car parked near the event and thought the spot had been swept. He has been charged with aggravated murder and six other crimes.
Greg Skordas, a lawyer, stated in court that Robinson does not have a lawyer but will be appointed legal representation by September 29. Robinson and his roommate lived in an apartment complex in St. George, Utah, which is about a 10-minute drive away from Robinson's family's home.
The apartment complex is where Robinson left a note for his roommate about the assassination plan. Robinson, the suspected killer, has been identified by authorities as the individual responsible for the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
