Sexual violence against children: searches throughout Hesse

Last week, the Hessian State Criminal Police Office (LKA) in Wiesbaden launched a series of investigations into sexual violence against children throughout the region. In these operations, a staggering 53 homes were searched, with one residence revealing a child sex doll belonging to a 27-year-old man in Bergstrasse. During the searches, nearly 540 electronic devices, including cell phones, computers, laptops, and USB sticks, were confiscated for further analysis.

53 suspects, including 5 females and 48 males, aged 79 and below, are now under investigation. Five of these individuals are accused of sexually abusing children and minors, while the remainder is under suspicion for obtaining, possessing, or distributing child pornography. Preliminary investigations suggest that there was no prior communication between the accused parties.

The "BAO Fokus" unit is leading the investigation, a specialized subdivision within the LKA that focuses on combating child abuse. The BAO Fokus boasts over 300 employees and has been instrumental in tracking down sexual abusers across Hesse. Regular large-scale searches are conducted as part of their ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of children in the region.

Parents have been encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. With the gravity of the situation in mind, Hesse's leaders have pledged their support to the fight against criminality, stressing the importance of unity in the pursuit of justice and the safety of children.
