Updated Election Security Measures in Central Visayas for 2025
Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, head of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7, declared a massive operation to ensure a peaceful and incident-free 2025 National and Local Election across Central Visayas. With the public's trust and the government's support, this ambitious endeavor aim to guarantee a smooth voting process.
PRO 7 is arming itself with cutting-edge technology, deploying drones that provide real-time video feeds to the election monitoring action center and potentially improving security for over two million polling precincts in Cebu and Bohol.
"We delivered on our promise of safe elections—our zero major incident record is a testament to our dedicated police force, meticulous planning and unified community spirit," Maranan boasted.
As election day approaches, PRO 7 has been ramped up under Maranan's leadership to guarantee a transparent and fair voting process.
To maintain vigilance, the PRO 7 team is conducting simulation drills, intelligence-driven risk assessments, and even deploying troops preemptively to potential trouble spots.
With praise from their counterparts in the Philippine Army, PRO 7 has been commended for its significant contributions to security efforts that contributed to a peaceful and incident-free election.
Maranan took charge of mobilizing all policemen, ensuring their quick transfer to the canvassing area after the polls close, in order to proclaim the winners efficiently.
In addition, PRO 7 reported positive news about the deployment of 50 police personnel to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, where the region is in a secure and issue-free situation.

- Assistance Desks: Police assistance desks were established at each school to support voters who may face issues or report incidents[2].
- Media Action Center: PRO 7 activated its Media Action Center to serve as the hub for verifying and circulating updates from the Regional Monitoring Action Center (Remac), promoting transparency, countering misinformation, and responding promptly to inquiries from the media and the public[2].
- Full Alert Status: All police personnel were put on high alert status and were prohibited from taking vacations or absences until the elections were concluded[2].
- Collaboration with Other Agencies: PRO 7 collaborated closely with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and other government entities to ensure a seamless and secure voting process throughout the region[2].
These measures formed part of the broader campaign to ensure a secure and efficient voting process in Central Visayas. Moreover, the region was placed under a "red alert" status until the proclamation of the winning candidates[3].
