Young kart racer Max Ongsiek, aged 13, from Versmolder suburb of Oesterweg, is currently recovering from a serious accident that took place during the Rotax Max Challenge Germany.

The accident happened during the Superheat (final race of the weekend) shortly after the flying start. Max sustained a mild concussion, bruises, and large skin injuries on his upper and lower arms. As a result, he spent two nights in the hospital and was discharged on Tuesday.

Despite the setback, Max's spirits remain high. His focus is now on recovery to compete in the top 10 at the season finale in October in Mülsen. His family, including grandpa Maik who took care of the kart setup, grandma Birgit, mom Nicole who handled the catering, and father Lars who managed the organization and data evaluation, have been by his side throughout his hospital stay in Oschersleben.

Before the accident, Max had been performing exceptionally well. In the morning warm-up, his times were on par with the top 10 of the 24-strong field. He also secured 14th place in the qualifying for the Rotax Max Challenge Germany.

The Ongsiek family is now looking beyond the season finale, aiming to secure funding for Max's continued participation in national motorsport. They are seeking sponsorship partners to help cover medical expenses, support his training, and fuel his dream of returning stronger to the racetrack.

For those interested in sponsorship opportunities, a proposal has been drafted, detailing the benefits for potential partners. The proposal includes branding on Max’s kart, racing suit, and helmet, logo placement and mentions on social media and press releases, opportunities for supporting local and international race events, and personal appearances and engagement with motorsport fans.
