In Eastern Georgia, several settlements are currently without electricity due to damage from a recent hurricane. The storm has also left several houses in Kakheti's Telavi and the neighboring Akhmeta district without roofs. Traffic on the highway connecting Eastern Georgia with Tbilisi has been halted due to fallen tree branches from the hurricane 1.

Meanwhile, Moscow and its region are bracing for rainy weather. A yellow weather warning has been issued, lasting until Saturday evening, August 2nd. Forecasts suggest brief showers and thunderstorms with gusts up to 15 m/s before 09:00 (Moscow time). Overnight temperatures in Moscow are expected to be between 16 to 18°C, and in the region, 13 to 18°C. By the end of the weekend, temperatures are expected to rise to 28°C in Moscow 2.

The weather warning was reported by TASS from Russia's Hydrometcenter, which has stated that a yellow level warning signifies potentially hazardous weather phenomena that require caution but pose no serious threat. Rainy weather is expected to persist in the Moscow region until 18:00, with a slight rain possible on Sunday night, with temperatures around 17 to 20°C 3.

On a historic note, Oleg Platov, a Roscosmos cosmonaut and mission specialist, is set to begin his first flight to the International Space Station as part of Crew-11. This mission is significant as it marks Platov's first trip to space after previously being a backup crew member for a Soyuz mission but withdrawn for medical reasons during training 4.

In conclusion, Eastern Georgia is recovering from a hurricane that caused significant damage, including destroyed roofs of houses and uprooted trees. Moscow, on the other hand, is preparing for rainy weather, with temperatures expected to rise by the end of the weekend. Meanwhile, Oleg Platov's flight to the ISS as part of Crew-11 is a personal milestone in his career, marking his first trip to space.
