Check it out - that cold front moving in from Norway's northwest is making its slow way southeast, but not without a stir. Behind it, we're seeing slightly milder air, but the south continues to sizzle and stay humid. In the southeast and Saxony, there's a chance of thundershowers in the morning and afternoon, with local downpours of up to 15 liters per square meter per hour. Yikes!
Small Hail and Wind Speeds of 70 km/h
The DWD predicts some intense thunderstorms today, particularly in the south, east, and southern central regions. Heavy rainfall of up to 20 liters per square meter within an hour, small hail, and wind speeds of up to 70 km/h are on the cards. The south isn't off the hook either, as localized severe weather due to heavy rainfall of up to 30 liters per square meter, larger hail, and wind speeds of up to 80 km/h can't be ruled out. Up north, short thunderstorms with small hail and wind speeds of up to 65 km/h are also on the radar.
The rest of the country can expect partly cloudy skies, with occasional showers and thunderstorms in the east and north. It'll usually be dry, though. Maximum temperatures in the northwest will be between 17 and 20 degrees, with warmer weather (21 to 24 degrees) elsewhere. Expect light to moderate west to northwest winds.
