Severe traffic congestion is prevalent in the Rose Garden area
On August 25, 2025, the Rosengarten Run, a family-friendly running and walking competition, is set to take place in the picturesque communities of Rosengarten and Neu Wulmstorf. Here's what you need to know about the traffic restrictions and road closures associated with the event.
The Rosengarten Run, organised by the Hausbruch-Neugrabener Turnerschaft (HNT), primarily takes place on forest and hiking trails. However, several streets and parking lots will be affected by closures and restrictions to ensure the safety of participants and spectators.
In Rosengarten, the parking lots "Diebeskuhlen" and "Großmodder Eiche" will have restrictions during the same period. The parking lot "Am Rosengarten" and the street "Am Broocken" will be closed from 8 am to 12:30 pm. These closures are expected to cause traffic disruptions in the community.
In Neu Wulmstorf, the street "Alter Postweg" will be closed between the connecting path to the Oheweg and "Vor dem Kirchenholz" from around 10 am to 1 pm. The passage to the Tempelberg in Neu Wulmstorf will also have a restriction during the same time, but traffic to or from the Tempelberg can pass as needed and depending on the situation on the running route.
In Alvesen, Steinkuhle, a part of the Heinrich-Wendt-Weg, Rüderstieg, and the Alvesener Heuweg will be closed to through traffic from 8 am to around 12:30 pm.
Alexander Mohr, HNT press spokesman, states that the part of the Rosengarten Run route via Alvesen is the busiest. He encourages residents and traffic to follow the instructions of the organisers and local authorities during the event.
Direct residents can use the affected streets if the situation on the running route allows it, but are encouraged to avoid them during the event. Traffic on the affected streets is advised to move their vehicles out of the area before the closures begin.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information, we recommend checking the official municipal websites of Rosengarten and Neu Wulmstorf, local event organisers, or traffic authorities closer to the date. The Rosengarten Run is a "Running event for the whole family through forest and heath," and we hope that with these traffic measures in place, everyone can enjoy the day safely and without unnecessary inconvenience.
In light of the Rosegarten Run, various other sports-analysis may deem necessary to study the impact of traffic restrictions and road closures on the event's execution and the communities involved. Post-event, a sports-analysis could be conducted to compare traffic flow before and during the race, providing insights for future organizers of similar sports events.
